DBI Moving Forward: From Research to Practice

February 9 - May 20, 2018
An archived copy of this webinar is available via DBI Moodle. However, participation in this experience is no longer eligible for CEUs.

This hour-long webinar is an introduction to the DeafBlind Interpreting National Training & Resource Center, the co-directors, and the core team members on the grant as well as the emerging research into protactile ASL as linguistically distinct from Visual ASL. Through in-depth surveys, focus groups and interviews, DBI has identified key findings as well as core competencies and domains that any interpreter working with DeafBlind individuals should be aware of. A pre- and post-assessment and evaluation are required for participants seeking CEUs.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

CEUs are offered for each module by the DeafBlind Interpreting National Training & Resource Center, an approved RID CMP and ACET sponsor, in the category of Professional Studies. In order to receive CEUs for your participation in the modules above, you will be required to complete both pre- and post-tests.

Upon completion of each module's post-test, an automatic certificate of completion will be generated for you. This serves as documentation until CEUs are processed. CEUs are submitted to RID quarterly. The quarters DBI follows are January-March, April-June, July-September, October-December.

If your cycle ends 12/31, don't fret! Your certificate of completion documents the date you finished the module. We will process your CEUs the first week of January 2020. Please hold any questions about CEUs until after the end of the quarter.
